Aspen Icarus Application by AspenTech is an engineering-driven cost estimating solution for process industry projects. It enables estimators and engineers to produce consistent, auditable capital and operating cost estimates from early concept through front-end engineering and detailed design. The application uses equipment- and bulk-quantity models with labor productivity rules to generate itemized estimates, material takeoffs, construction labor hours, and overall project economics. It integrates with Aspen Plus and Aspen HYSYS to import design data or accepts manual inputs, and it supports location factors, currency selection, escalation, and contingency analysis. Widely used in chemicals, refining, midstream, and energy, Aspen Icarus helps teams compare design alternatives, improve estimate accuracy, and accelerate decision-making. It is the predecessor and underlying methodology for Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE).
